Skidmore - Amanda

After along and painful illness from cancer of the stomach, Mrs. Amanda Skidmore, of Helt's Prairie, wife of George Skidmore, deceased, died on Saturday last, aged 68 years. Her husband died fifteen years ago from cancer of the throat. The funeral occurred at Salem church at 10 o'clock a. m. Monday last, Rev. Claude Travis, pastor of the M. E. church, preaching the discourse. Interment was in the Helt's Prairie cemetery. The deceased was a most excellent Christian lady and had the esteem and respect of all her neighbors and acquaintances. She was the mother of J. W. Skidmore, of this city. - thanks to Kim H
